At Dr. Shima Hadidchi MD Family Practice, we’re taking all of the precautions to ensure our staff and patients are safe amid the coronavirus pandemic, and we’re available for those patients who need to be tested for the COVID disease. We can provide these tests for people experiencing the symptoms of the virus. If you believe you or a loved one is having these symptoms, then please call our clinic today or book with us online for an at-home telemedicine visit with us, and if you require testing, we’ll be able to schedule it with you. Please note that we are unable to see patients in-office at this time.
If you or a loved one has the symptoms of the coronavirus disease, then testing may be necessary. The common symptoms of the infection are fever, tiredness, and a dry cough, but if these symptoms are mild, testing may not be necessary. Testing and healthcare might be necessary, though, if a patient is experiencing the more severe symptoms of infection like shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, chest pain/pressure, and/or loss of speech/movement.
If you notice any of the symptoms of an infection, then you must stay home but also seek medical attention. So long as the symptoms are not life-threatening, Dr. Shima Hadidchi MD Family Practice can help by providing a tele visit and, if necessary, testing. We ask that you try to understand that our clinic is limited in our supply of testing kits, so we must make them available to only those patients who need them, like healthcare workers and patients with serious symptoms.
If you must be tested, then you’ll be able to get tested with Dr. Shima Hadidchi MD Family Practice, but you must speak with us first about your symptoms. Call us and we’ll schedule you for an at-home telemedicine visit with us. This visit can be over the phone or via the Internet. This is called telemedicine and it’s usually inexpensive and insured for our patients. If we determine that you must be tested for the coronavirus, then we’ll be able to provide a test either in-person or at-curbside.
There are two tests for the coronavirus. One is an antibody test, and this is to determine whether a patient previously had the virus. This information is useful in tracking the spread of the coronavirus. The other test is the viral test. This test can determine whether a person currently has the virus. The viral test is called the nasal pharyngeal swab, and with this test, a swab is inserted into the patient’s nose where a sample is taken and then tested.
This depends on the patient and the seriousness of the case. In mild cases, it will take about 2 weeks for a patient to make a recovery. However, it can take 3 to 6 weeks for a patient with a serious case to recover.
You can contact us here at Dr. Shima Hadidchi MD Family Practice. We’ll be able to provide you with a test if we deem one necessary, and to make this determination, we must speak with you about your symptoms. Please call us anytime Monday to Friday during regular business hours. You can reach call us to book your televisit with us, or you can book with us online if you’d prefer to. We wish you and your family good health, and if you’re unwell, then we hope to hear from you very soon!
